To free choice blog or not to free choice blog that is the question...

 We rolled out individual blogs in Term 2. The students in Room 21 were excited to use this new tool. Screenshots from Sofia and Nicoles Blogs This week when I said we were going to do a blog post, I heard a range of sighs and groans. We had a bit of a chat about it and it became clear that students had a lot feedback. I created a shared doc where students shared their thoughts about blogging. It was a structured task with questions to guide their feedback.  In hindsight, that lack of choice featured largely in the feedback.  I am amused with myself. Here are the main points that were raised in the feedback; It's just writing about learning We have no choice about what we can blog about It is so detailed and it takes too long I get tired The topics are not very exciting quote " I was excited to share my art and Minecraft creations but then I got disappointed because we just shared maths and stuff that sounded like a science experiment :(. Ms Corbett has never seen Room 21 as engaged in problem solving and as agentic as they were when they found out Minecraft went live on the chromebooks. 

Our contribution to NWS

One of the perks of being in Room 21 is that we get to help clean, label, organise and distribute ICT equipment. It is great to be able to contribute.

Primary Colours and blending using white

 We used paint to make the secondary colours green, orange and purple.  Next we practised blending from dark to light by adding white paint.
